NBC officially announced on Wednesday that Jay Leno will be stepping down from his reigns as host of The Tonight Show in 2014 and handing the show over to Jimmy Fallon, who will broadcast live from New York City.
In the official release, NBC took a bit of a jab at Conan O’Brien by totally pretending his brief stint as host of The Tonight Show never happened.
The release read “Leno has hosted The Tonight Show with Jay Leno since taking over the reins from television icon Johnny Carson in 1992”
Not even a mention of their failed experiment that sent O’Brien to cable and brought Leno back to the soundstage at Burbank.
Is this a nasty jab at Team Coco? Will you be pumped for the big switch next year? And most importantly who will they bring in to replace Fallon?
